Many Netherton lines were bought when Shadwell started and, like the Blelack females, they still have great dominance in the herd today. The most successful is probably the Kathleen line. We bought Netherton Kathleen in Perth for 7500gns. She is sired by the legendry TLA Northern Samurai and is out of the imported cow Fisher Bold Gold. As a senior cow, Kathleen herself has had numerous show success in east Anglia and the south east.

The Pam line has also been successful. We bought Netherton Pam as a senior cow where she had been unbeaten in the show ring for two years for the McLaren family. The Pam lines pass on longevity, size, fantastic nature, milk and easy calving.

The Elandia line have had the greatest success for Shadwell in the show ring. In 2004 and 2005 we had wins at the South of England, Royal and East of England with Elandia heifers.

The Fleur line is incredibly sought after and we are incredibly happy with the Fleur females at Shadwell. Netherton Fleur N26 was a foundation female for us, again by Samurai. They are good breeders and milk well. All being well Shadwell will have a Fleur on the 2010 show circuit.

Belle 

Netherton Belle O57 was the first of this family and she has made a great name for herself. Again, we have had many show successes from this line, particularly with Shadwell Belle in 2004 winning many classes as a four year old cow. We sold a Belle to the Hurn family in Norfolk, of which they have had great success with her.

Frances

Francis is another foundation line and many females go back to her today. The Francis line are incredibly deep bodied females that calve well and have great milking ability.

Duchess

The success of KBJ Duchess 100Y has had a lasting effect at Shadwell and bred us the powerful show cow Shadwell Delilah. Although this line isn’t common in the herd, the females that are born of it have that certain stamp of authority, dominance and even a touch of sheer bloody mindedness that make them every inch a show winner. Shadwell Delilah B066 was shown at the foot of Delilah and is by Royal Added Value, she currently has a very strong bull calf at foot by Lockerley Bruno.
