May 2006: Shadwell take reserve male spot at Suffolk Show

Our small show team has had some success at this year’s Suffolk Show with the Shadwell Black Baroque sired Shadwell Euther taking first prize in the junior class and the reserve male championship. We also had a second and third prizes with yearling heifers and a first in the two year old heifer class with Shadwell Jayne Erica.

July 2004: Shadwell take the interbreed championship at the Royal Show

In an exciting and fitting end to his show career, Justin Eric X47 of Blelack led the Aberdeen-Angus classes with style before going on to take the coveted interbreed title at the Royal Show. Tapped out by judge and Somerset Limousin breeder Nick Hill, Justin was described as a bull with great power and presence in the show ring. “for a senior bull he moved impeccably and his ease of fleshing, length and locomotion meant he was an easy winner for me,” said Mr Hill after the judging.

In the breed classes, Justin was placed champion by David Walker of Galcantry. Mr Walker who at the time was looking for a senior herd sire later offered to purchase Justin as he was so impressed with him in the show ring.

July 2002: One of the best Royal’s so far for Shadwell

This year’s Royal Show was probably the best for some time for Shadwell Estates, as we dominated the Aberdeen-Angus classes. We started by leading the senior male offering with Royal Added value 19D, he later went on to take the male championship. We also took a first with Shadwell Brigan in the intermediate male section and narrowly missed out on a first place in the junior section by standing second with Shadwell Emperor. In the female section we took a first place in the yearling heifer class with Shadwell Elande.
